STORRS – The familiar sounds of whistles blowing and shoulder pads clashing, the side views of a perfectly threaded pass and the blurs of jerseys whistling took with them a breath of fresh air for Jim Mora during the first practice of fall of UConn football on Friday.
“I hadn’t coached on a football field since November 18, 2017, when we played USC at the Coliseum, and the next morning I got fired,” Mora said of coaching. from UCLA five years ago. “I know exactly how long I haven’t been able to go out and prepare for a game.
