The best coffee makers for the way you love your cup of joe

If your days depend on a lot of caffeine, you will definitely enjoy having one of the best coffee makers in your kitchen. Last year, about 23% of U.S. residents bought a new coffee maker for their home, according to a recent report from the National Coffee Association. With 42% of coffee drinkers surveyed preferring drip-drip to cold brew or alternative methods, we decided to test the best Java machines around – and also consulted with a coffee expert – to suggest a wide choice of options, if you plan to prepare a similar purchase for your household this year.

Which coffee maker is right for you?

Gary Chau, co-founder and creative director of Caffe Luxxe, an upscale coffeehouse chain in Los Angeles, tells us that you should focus on your personal preferences, as different brewing methods can result in different tastes. And, he says, you should consider the level of convenience, in other words, how much do you want to be involved in brewing your coffee? For those who want to get heavily involved, Gary recommends a French press for a manual experience. “It will generally produce a richer, thicker cup of coffee because it retains more coffee oils in the brewing process, but you can then decide by experimenting how much coffee you prefer, as well as how much coffee you want. level of fineness or coarseness of the coffee, which helps impart different flavor and strength. Another practical approach would be the payout method. “This allows you to control the rate and flow of the hot water, and changing the brew time and water temperature can affect the flavor as well.”

If convenience is your main goal, there is no better option than the classic drip machine, a trusted benchmark for what Gary describes as “a nice, smooth batch of coffee.” This method provides ease for someone who can be on the go every morning and focus on simplicity. For those who are only interested in espresso and the reproduction of fine coffee drinks, check out our review of the best espresso machines on the market.

Before you start

Gary recommends using fresh whole grains and cautions against overtaking your mill. Instead, only grind the amount you’re going to use for the day’s brew. “If you think of your coffee as a natural agricultural product, just like fruits and vegetables, then you will realize the importance of fresh coffee in preserving boldness and strength of flavor. We love the high quality Baratza burr mill. Gary explains that the essential oils and aromas of coffee beans are trapped inside until they are ground. “After grinding, it takes quite a short time before these oils and flavors disappear into the air and the coffee begins to oxidize.” Whatever your morning (or noon or evening) ritual, we’ve tested 10 machines to help you get great tasting coffee every time. These are the best coffee makers for the way you love your cup of coffee.

Another of my personal favorites, the Wolf Gourmet Coffee Maker not only has those iconic red knobs, it also delivers the level of quality and precise control you’ve come to expect from Wolf. Full Disclosure: The coffee maker matches my Wolf countertop oven and Wolf griddle, so I’m obviously a fan of their devices, and not just because of the matching hardware. It is made of stainless steel and the carafe is made of thermal stainless steel. Since the basket is loaded from the front, there is no problem bumping into the upper cabinets. I can brew coffee in manual mode or in Accu-Brew mode (the latter actually has a scale to help me determine how much coffee to add to get the strength I want).

The coffee maker has two buttons and an LED display panel. The mode selection bezel on the top button allows you to choose between manual, Accu-Brew, or Clean mode, and the actual button controls the brew strength in Accu-Brew mode. The bottom button is used to set the clock, to program the coffee cycle and to choose the quantity of cup. In addition to showing the time, the display panel shows the coffee scale, brewing status and elapsed time since brewing (up to one hour), in addition to reminders to change the brew. water filter. The water tank is removable for easy filling and cleaning, and there is a removable water filter (in case tap water is less than desirable). Wolf does a perfect job of extracting just the right amount of flavor for a quality coffee drinking experience.

The Ratio Six Matte Stainless Steel Coffeemaker is one of the coolest I have ever seen, and while pricey, it’s actually the most affordable of the Ratio coffeemakers. Is the high price worth it? Aside from the Wolf, I think it makes the best coffee of any machine on this list. In addition to matt stainless steel, it is also available in white and black. I have the stainless steel version, and in addition to the stainless steel body, the double-walled thermal carafe, filter basket, shower head and even the water tank cover are made of stainless steel.
