Arnerich Massena is proud to announce his sponsorship of the non-profit organization Rock The Street, Wall Street, bringing the financial literacy and investment program for high school girls to Grant High School in Portland, Oregon.

Arnerich Massena is the program’s first sponsor in Oregon, making this the first time Rock The Street, Wall Street will be available locally.

Rock The Street, Wall Street (RTSWS) is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides financial and investment education to high school girls to spark their interest in finance. Many girls drop out of math at an early age and don’t choose a math-focused career because they lack role models in the real world. RTSWS offers programs that connect girls with female finance professionals who teach investing and budgeting in a classroom and provide mentorship opportunities.
“We are delighted to partner with RTSWS,” says Arnerich Massena Co-CEO Reegan Rae, CPWA®. “The financial services industry lags behind many other industries in terms of gender diversity. We are proud to have a long history of gender balance in our leadership and board teams, and we have been dedicated to promoting and encouraging women in finance since our inception in 1991. This program s fit perfectly into our efforts to drive change. We have a number of female finance professionals who look forward to joining our volunteer team and helping to empower young women seeking careers in our industry.
“It’s imperative to improve girls’ financial and investment literacy before they reach college, take on college debt, and begin to exercise financial independence,” said Maura Cunningham, Founder and CEO of Rock. The Street, Wall Street. “We are creating a strong pipeline of diverse women by engaging girls in high school and advancing them in finance. Many girls adjust their academic pursuits and career direction after completing our program. And all leave the experience with greater financial confidence that will benefit them throughout their lives.
Over 4,000 girls have completed the RTSWS program since its inception in 2013. RTSWS students have on average increased their understanding of financial literacy by 78% between the start and end of the program. Graduates of the program are five times more likely to pursue a degree in finance, economics or related fields than the national average for female undergraduates.
Arnerich Massena is proud to be 30% owned by women. Led by a co-CEO team of both men and women, women make up 40% of the company’s executive management, 20% of the company’s shareholders and 40% of the company consulting team. Arnerich Massena has been an outspoken thought leader on the importance of gender diversity in the investment advisory industry, and this RTSWS sponsorship is in line with the company’s efforts to encourage more women to pursue careers in financial services.

ABOUT ROCK THE STREET, WALL STREET – Rock The Street, Wall Street is a financial education and investing program designed to engage a diverse population of high school girls in careers in finance. The program helps girls understand the real-world application of the math they learn in the classroom, teaching them about saving, investing, budgeting, stocks and financial markets, and their role in maintaining well-being their families, their communities and the economy. RTSWS programs are funded by sponsors; volunteers are finance professionals who travel to local high schools to teach M in STEM and serve as real-life role models and mentors for the girls. RTSWS programs place a strong emphasis on barriers that need to be removed and the types of interventions that “elevate” student interest, engagement, and ability to persist in the M of STEM fields. Based in Nashville, Tennessee, RTSWS programs are present in 51 high schools in 26 cities across the United States and Canada. Cities for the 2021-2022 academic year include: Atlanta, Ann Arbor, Charlotte, Chicago, Columbus, Denver, Ft. Worth, Kansas City (KS), Kansas City (MO), Minneapolis, Nashville, New York, Omaha, Philadelphia, Raleigh, Silicon Valley, San Diego and Vancouver (BC).
