The January 2022 HarmonyOS security update is making its way to the Huawei Mate Xs foldable smartphone. The latest HarmonyOS update improves smartphone security by fixing various levels of exploits and issues.

Huawei Mate Xs January 2022 update is rolling out with HarmonyOS version 2.0.0.222, which is upgraded from 2.0.0.216. Well, the changelog reveals that besides security improvements, no major changes are mentioned here.

HarmonyOS January 2022 security patch details:

The January 2022 HarmonyOS security patch fixes 4 CVEs in the framework, 10 CVEs in the system, and 5 CVEs in the application. Additionally, it also resolves 111 CVEs found in third-party libraries.

On the other hand, the global variant of Huawei Mate Xs has upgraded the EMUI 12 software system without holding a beta test. Currently, the stable version of EMUI 12 for Mate Xs is rolling out in batches and is reaching all Mate Xs devices soon.

So, Huawei users! here are two ways to update the smartphone to the latest version. These two elements are mentioned below:

Via Settings:

Go to settings of your respective devices, then click on system and updates followed by software updates. Then click on CHECK FOR UPDATES and let the phone fetch the latest update for you. Once the update pops up, download and install it.

Via the My Huawei app:

Open the My Huawei app, visit the update section and follow the on-screen instructions. When the update is complete, your phone will restart automatically. Please wait for more than five to ten minutes.

Update Note:

Before updating your smartphone, the phone must be charged at least 30% or more and make sure it has enough storage to download the update package. Also use a Wi-Fi connection and do not turn off the phone forcibly.
