CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio – Believing that this is indeed the most wonderful time of the year, Hallmark Channel has partnered with theaters in hometowns across the United States to promote its’ Countdown to Christmas ”.

You too can have your sweet, if not sappy, nostalgic moment this weekend, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday (December 4) and Sunday (December 5) at Sugar Pines Farm in Chester Township.

While they can’t promise that you will meet and fall in love with Mr. or Mrs. Wonderful, you can be randomly chosen to receive a free farmhouse Christmas tree, courtesy of the Hallmark Channel.

Located at 9500 Mulberry Road in Chester Township, Sugar Pines Farm is a 100 acre farm with a dozen acres to explore, choose your perfect Christmas tree and cut it yourself for a great photo and souvenir of family.

Rustic tractor-pulled hay wagon rides are available, with social distancing. You can warm up in the barn and buy holiday veggies, hot chocolate, hot corn, and other goodies. Tours with Santa Claus are offered from noon to 4 p.m. on Friday (December 3) and Sunday (December 5). Check the website for more information.

Bring a new or slightly worn warm coat as a gift to give to someone in need through One Warm Coat, a national non-profit organization that collects and distributes coats to children and adults in all 50 states while promoting volunteerism and environmental sustainability.

Vote for your favorite: The fall election season may be over, but you can vote now for the winning poster to promote the ninth annual New Years Popcorn Ball Drop.

The Chagrin Falls Popcorn Shop partnered with the graphic arts class at Chagrin Falls High School to design posters for the event. Seven student-designed posters are on display in the Main Street store. The winner will be declared on Wednesday December 15th and the posters will be distributed from December 17th.

Voting will be done on smartphones or on paper ballots available at the Popcorn Shop.

Students include Dylan Babic, Shelby Brett, Logan Holmes, Preston O’Connor, Sam Partain, Liam Ratcliffe and Ryan Reid. Each will receive a bag of gifts from the store, and the winner will receive a cash prize of $ 50, along with the design appearing on the label of this year’s Special Edition Popcorn Flavor Created by The Kitchen.
