Diákhitel raises general purpose student loan rate to 4.99%

Public student loan provider Diákhitel said on Monday that the interest rate on its free-purpose loans would drop from 1.99% to 4.99%, state news wire MTI reports.
Hungarians enrolled in higher education institutions can subscribe up to HUF 150,000 per month of credit for free use.
Diákhitel said borrowers who already have a loan repayment moratorium can continue to participate in the program.
Diákhitel loans for tuition fees are interest free.
