AM LLC Announces NYC and CA Contracts to Expand COVID-19 Vaccine Awareness and Programming in Marginalized Communities

LEESBURG, Virginia., January 26, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — AM LLC (AM), a public health company working with K-12 schools and federal, state and local health departments, has won new service contracts for the Pandemic Response Institute of West Harlem, NYC and the Department of Public Health from Kings County to California.
“The explosive spread of the Omicron variant has laid bare the inequities in the U.S. response to COVID-19,” said AM LLC Senior Medical Advisor Dr. Robert Redfield. “A virus that continues to strike the unvaccinated requires reinvigorated approaches to reach at-risk or underserved communities.”
The Pandemic Response Institute (PRI), led by Colombia University and key partner CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy, works to strengthen the city’s public health infrastructure and uplift communities most affected by public health emergencies. Since its launch, it has brought together a large consortium of university, community, government and corporate partners.
AM currently provides COVID-19 public health services to ethnically and economically diverse populations located in TRIE (Task Force on Racial Inclusion and Equity) designated neighborhoods in all five boroughs of New York City. PRI has enlisted AM’s expertise to support efforts to create pandemic preparedness and prevention solutions in Harlem and New York at large.
In coordination with the New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM) and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), AM will organize community partners and build their capacity to plan and train for public health emergencies. AM will also strengthen public health communication networks and use hyperlocal data to inform targeted local responses and to strengthen PRI’s Harlem-based hub and spoke model.
“Even when COVID-19 is behind us, we will work consistently on how we put systems in place to be able to predict, prepare, quickly detect the next health threat, and then also respond effectively to the next threat. for health”, Dr Wafaa El-Sadr, Director of ICAP at Colombia University and professor of epidemiology and medicine at the Mailman School of Public Health, said. “And we hope that PRI will eventually serve as a model for how communities around the world can respond to major health threats.”
AM has also been asked to support the Kings County Department of Public Health (KCDPH), where AM is tasked with helping establish a COVID-19 vaccine support center to ensure equitable vaccine availability and increase rates. vaccination in areas of the county with a low Healthy Places Index (HPI). The overarching goal of the project is to build confidence in vaccines through education, promotion and administration of vaccines at point-of-care in the community, combined with an incentive program to further build demand. of vaccines.
AM will achieve this by working with KCDPH and public health providers across the county to improve community outreach and develop a strong strategic communications plan and vaccine messaging campaign that targets both urban and rural multilingual populations. . Primary target audiences include the Tachi Yokut tribe, farm workers and monolingual Spanish speakers, families with children ages 0-12, African American residents, and predominantly rural, low-income areas of Avenal, corcoranand Home Garden Community Service District.
AM offers a full range of prevention strategies and solutions for all phases of COVID-19 mitigation: contact tracing, testing, vaccination and program evaluation. Vital services include rapid deployment of personnel, establishment of technology infrastructure, collaboration of stakeholders and community organizations, awareness and orientation campaigns, and data analysis and reporting. AM has a proven track record of rapidly deploying a skilled and highly motivated workforce that reflects the racial, ethnic, cultural and linguistic makeup of the communities it serves.
